Prevention & Screening
Routine oral examinations, ideally scheduled twice a year, enable your dentist to identify any oral health issues and create necessary treatment plans.
During your examination, your dentist will comprehensively evaluate the state of your teeth, gums, jaw, and bite. These assessments may include dental X-rays and other diagnostic procedures.
Once your dentist has had a chance to assess your oral health they will create a treatment plan for you. The goal of this will be to eliminate any oral health issues and help you achieve and maintain good oral health in the future.
Oral Health Care at Home
Maintain a healthy smile between dental appointments by brushing your teeth for two minutes, twice a day, and flossing at least once daily.
Dental Hygiene Cleaning
At Clayton Park Dental, our dental hygienists perform hygiene cleanings to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth and gumline and help prevent gum disease and other oral health issues.
Your dental hygienist will begin by removing any tartar and plaque buildup using a scaler. They will then use a polisher and coarse toothpaste to remove any remaining stains or plaque before flossing your teeth and gums thoroughly.
Fluoride Treatment
If you or your child faces a high risk of tooth decay, your dentist might also suggest a fluoride treatment. Fluoride, a natural mineral, can aid in restoring the minerals in your tooth enamel to prevent or reverse tooth decay.
